Middle East News Network: The Parliamentary Foreign Affairs Committee, chaired by MP Haitham Ziadin, met on Wednesday with the Lebanese Ambassador to the Kingdom, Brigitte Tawk, to discuss ways to strengthen bilateral relations between Jordan and Lebanon and to reaffirm the deep fraternal ties between the two countries.
\nAccording to a statement issued by the committee, Ziadin emphasized the importance of developing joint cooperation across various fields, particularly political and economic, in a way that serves mutual interests and enhances regional stability. He also stressed the need to maintain coordination and consultation on issues of common concern.
\nMP Iman Al-Abbasi highlighted the importance of unifying parliamentary efforts to support Arab causes and enhance joint action to confront regional challenges, contributing to achieving security and stability.
\nThe meeting also addressed a number of regional and international issues of mutual interest, with both sides underscoring the importance of dialogue and cooperation in facing current challenges.
\nFor her part, Ambassador Tawk praised the pivotal role of His Majesty King Abdullah II in promoting stability in the region and commended the efforts of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ayman Safadi in supporting Arab causes.
\nShe expressed her appreciation and gratitude to Jordan for its continued support to Lebanon, particularly in the electricity supply project, stressing the importance of this cooperation in alleviating the challenges facing the Lebanese people.
