Russian Defense Ministry Announces Full Control Over Luhansk Region in Eastern Ukraine
Middle East News Network: The Russian Ministry of Defense announced that its forces have taken full control of all territories of the Luhansk People’s Republic, which has been annexed by Russia, as well as the towns of Verkhnyaya Pisarivka in Kharkiv region and Boykovo in Zaporizhzhia region in eastern and southern Ukraine.
In its daily statement on the progress of the “special military operation” in Ukraine, the Russian Defense Ministry said:
Continued strikes on military airfields, defense industry facilities, and energy and fuel infrastructure supporting Ukrainian forces.
“North” group forces inflicted losses on the enemy in the Kharkiv and Sumy regions in eastern and northern Ukraine, with 255 Ukrainian soldiers killed.
“West” group forces inflicted losses of 170 Ukrainian soldiers.
“East” group forces inflicted losses of 275 Ukrainian soldiers.
“South” group forces seized strategic lines and positions, inflicting losses of 175 Ukrainian soldiers.
“Dnipro” group forces improved their tactical positions, inflicting losses of 70 Ukrainian soldiers.
“Center” group forces improved their positions along the front line, inflicting losses of 370 Ukrainian soldiers.
“Center” group forces advanced toward the Dobropillia direction, thwarted an attempted Ukrainian counterattack and breach in the area, destroyed a convoy of four vehicles including an Abrams tank, and neutralized around 30 Ukrainian fighters.
