Qa’ani Sends a Defiant Message to Trump

Middle East News Network: Commander of the Quds Force of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, General Esmail Qa’ani, said on Saturday that “the fate of all American terrorist forces is to flee the region.”
Qa’ani stressed that “American terrorists have no choice but to leave the region,” launching a sharp attack on the commander of the U.S. aircraft carrier Gerald R. Ford.
In a statement published by Iranian Arabic-language media, Qa’ani said that the carrier’s commander was “cowardly” and did not dare to cross the Bab al-Mandab Strait out of fear of “the heroic fighters and the steadfast Yemeni people.” He added that after two weeks of hesitation and sailing in the Red Sea, the carrier withdrew from the area “under a fabricated pretext,” according to his description.
Qa’ani further stated that “the destiny of all American terrorist forces is to flee the region,” calling on U.S. President Donald Trump—whom he described as a “criminal”—to dismiss the commander of the aircraft carrier Gerald R. Ford.
This comes within Tehran’s broader view that the retreat of the U.S. fleet and the failure of military movements by bases and carriers indicate a systematic withdrawal of American presence from the Middle East military landscape.
