Trump Vows to Confront Challenges and Praises the Historic Transformation Achieved in Less Than a Year

Middle East News Network: U.S. President Donald Trump delivered the State of the Union address before Congress on Wednesday, affirming that his administration has achieved a “historic transformation” unlike anything the country has witnessed in less than a year of his second term.
Trump pledged to confront the threats facing the United States, emphasizing the strengthening of the military presence near Iran.
In his first State of the Union address since beginning his second presidential term 13 months ago, Trump said: “As President, I will strive to achieve peace wherever possible. But I will never hesitate to confront the threats facing our country wherever it is necessary for us to do so.”
In his annual address to Congress on the State of the Union, Trump stated that his administration had achieved a “historic transformation” in the country. He defended his accomplishments and outlined his future priorities.
Addressing a divided Congress, and setting forth his future agenda at an event that brings together the three branches of government and senior officials—while the American public awaits a comprehensive assessment of the nation’s condition—he declared: “After just one year, I can say with great pride and honor that we have achieved a historic transformation unlike anything seen before.”
