Qatar’s Interior Ministry: Spreading Rumors and Unverified Information May Lead to Legal Accountability
Middle East News Network: Qatar’s Ministry of Interior has called on residents to obtain information only from official sources, warning against the risks of تداول (circulating) rumors and unverified information, which may result in legal accountability.
In an official statement, the ministry stressed the importance of verifying the accuracy of news and documents before sharing or engaging with them. It emphasized that spreading misleading information exposes individuals to legal consequences in accordance with the country’s laws and regulations.
The ministry also urged the public to uphold social and national responsibility, and to promote awareness about the dangers of rumors that may affect security and social stability. It encouraged people to refer to the ministry’s official accounts and other government platforms for accurate information.
