Iran Attacks U.S. Warship After Ignoring Warnings
Middle East News Network: Iranian media, citing local sources, reported that two missiles struck a U.S. warship near Jask Island after it allegedly ignored Iranian warnings.
The sources added that the U.S. warship retreated from the area.
Meanwhile, Iranian state television reported that the Iranian Navy prevented U.S. warships from entering the Strait of Hormuz region.
Earlier on Monday, Iran’s Joint Armed Forces Command threatened to target any foreign force approaching the Strait of Hormuz, as Operation “Freedom Project”—announced by U.S. President Donald Trump—was launched. The operation aims to assist ships stranded in the Strait of Hormuz and help them exit safely.
Trump stated that countries from around the world, most of which are not involved in the Iran conflict, had requested U.S. assistance in freeing their vessels, describing them as “neutral parties.”
In a post on Truth Social, he added that Washington would work to guide ships safely through the waterways, allowing them to resume their operations.
