Most Dangerous Threat: Khamenei Vows to Sink U.S. Aircraft Carriers

Middle East News Network: Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei, issued a direct and explicit threat to the U.S. administration and American forces, stating that Iranian weaponry is capable of sinking aircraft carriers.
Khamenei delivered a clear warning to U.S. President Donald Trump and the American military, affirming that Iran possesses military capabilities that could turn U.S. aircraft carriers into wreckage at the bottom of the oceans. He stressed that “the weapon capable of sinking an aircraft carrier to the bottom of the sea is far more dangerous than the carrier itself.”
The remarks were made during a speech in the city of Tabriz on the occasion of the “anniversary of the historic Tabriz uprising,” in response to repeated statements by Trump in which he boasts that “Washington has the strongest army in the world.” Commenting on this, Khamenei said: “The American president keeps repeating that his army is the strongest in the world, but even the strongest armies can receive a crushing blow that prevents them from rising again.”
The Iranian Supreme Leader added: “They continue to talk about sending aircraft carriers toward Iran. Naturally, an aircraft carrier is a threat, but what is more dangerous is the weapon that has the capability to send that carrier to the bottom of the sea.” He emphasized that “no party in the world will be able to destroy the Islamic Republic,” considering that Trump’s previous acknowledgment — when he admitted that the United States had failed for 47 years to overthrow the Iranian regime — is evidence of Washington’s inability to achieve that objective in the future as well.
